Mallorca youth mental health: nine talks in Palma

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

In Palma, Mallorca, nine talks give young people, families and those who support them a chance to discuss mental health with specialists: the series opens on 21 October 2026 and runs until June 2027. The Mallorca Island Council says about 1,200 people attended the previous edition of its Endinsa't en les teves emocions programme. The talks invite questions and personal experiences, rather than leaving the audience simply to listen.

Psychologists Carmen Medina and Jennifer Prata and psychiatrist José Carbonell lead the opening discussion on young people’s mental health, with Elionor Pons moderating. The council says the programme aims to help people recognise possible problems and find practical ways to respond to situations affecting young people’s emotional wellbeing.

The next talk covers anxiety and depression among young people on 24 November, followed by challenging behaviour and behavioural problems on 15 December. In 2027, the subjects are boundaries and rules on 21 January; habits that protect mental health on 23 February; self-esteem and managing emotions on 16 March; substance and technology addictions on 20 April; body image and eating disorders on 25 May; and healthy relationships with family, friends and partners on 22 June. Every session starts at 18.00 at the headquarters of the Official College of Physicians of the Balearic Islands in Palma.
