Climate in S'Hostalot — Eastern Edge of Palma
S'Hostalot sits at just under 12 meters above sea level on the eastern side of the Palma municipal area, close to the Ma-15 road toward Manacor. The settlement is separated from the open Mediterranean by the airport plain and a slight rise in the terrain — climatically, however, it falls squarely within the Mediterranean influence zone of the Bahia de Palma.
For climate assessment, AEMET station B228 Palma Hafen is used as the reference point. Annual precipitation there totals 449 mm, distributed mainly across the cooler months: autumn and winter bring the most rainy days, while summer is markedly dry. The slightly inland position — sheltered by the airport infrastructure to the south and without a direct waterfront — means sea breezes arrive somewhat more muted than along the coast itself.
In July, the daily average according to AEMET is 25.7°C, with highs around 29°C. The dry season from June through August is pronounced and reliably settled. During this period, extended time outdoors is limited by the heat during the day — S'Hostalot functions more as a transit point for excursions to rural estates and the island's interior than as a destination in its own right.
Autumn remains pleasant, with temperatures around 20.2°C in October, before the winter rain fronts move in. In January, the daily average is just under 12°C. For the area east of Palma, that is mild by Mallorca standards — frost is a rare exception.
More climate data for the region is available on the Mallorca Climate Table. The Mallorca Climate Zone page offers a broader view beyond Palma.
Note on data: S'Hostalot has no dedicated AEMET climate station. Climate values are based on AEMET B228 Palma Hafen (1981–2010).
