Mallorca Weather in November: Temperatures, Activities & Travel Tips
Whilst Northern Europe sinks into grey November fog, Mallorca offers a welcome escape: daytime temperatures of 19°C, mild evenings and an island that has settled into a comfortable rhythm after the frenzy of high season. November is the month when Mallorca belongs to the locals once more — restaurants serve seasonal specialities, the hiking trails are empty, and the autumn colours paint the Serra de Tramuntana in warm golds and russets. With 7 rainy days, you should expect the occasional shower, but between the clouds, the Mediterranean sun breaks through with a warmth and clarity that feels almost like a parting gift from summer.

The 19°C daytime temperature feels noticeably warmer in the sunshine — in sheltered corners of Palma's old town or on the cafe terraces in Soller, the perceived temperature quickly reaches 22-23°C. The nights cool to 11°C, making a jumper or jacket indispensable from late afternoon onwards. The shift from the balmy evenings of summer is unmistakable, but the days can still surprise you with their gentleness.
Surprisingly for many visitors, the water temperature in November still sits at a pleasant 19°C. The Mediterranean retains the summer warmth far longer than the air, making a swim entirely possible and, for many, refreshingly pleasant. Along the south-east coast around Colonia de Sant Jordi and Ses Salines, the water is often a degree warmer still. Current values can be found in our water temperature overview.
Compared to other Mediterranean destinations like Crete (19°C) or the Algarve (18°C), Mallorca holds its own in November — and scores with significantly shorter flight times from the UK. You can be on the island in just over two hours from most British airports.
What to Do in Mallorca in November
Hiking in the Serra de Tramuntana: November offers perfect temperatures for extended walks. The Dry Stone Route GR 221 is less frequented than in spring, and the autumn vegetation lends the trails an entirely different atmosphere. The stretch from Estellencs to Banyalbufar along the coast is particularly recommended — dramatic cliff-top paths with views that seem to stretch to Africa on clear days. The mountain refuges offer hearty meals and a warm welcome to walkers.
Olive Harvest and Wine Season: In November, the olive harvest begins across Mallorca — in the groves around Soller and Fornalutx, you can watch the farmers at their traditional handwork, using methods that have barely changed in centuries. At the same time, the wine estates in Binissalem celebrate the end of the grape harvest. Visit a bodega and sample the indigenous varieties Manto Negro and Prensal Blanc — wines that are still relatively unknown outside the island and represent extraordinary value.
Mushroom Foraging: The autumn rains transform the forests of the Tramuntana into a paradise for mushroom hunters. Esclata-sangs (saffron milk caps) and girgoles (oyster mushrooms) are the stars of the season and appear on the menus of the island's best restaurants. Mancor de la Vall hosts an annual Fira de la Tardor (autumn fair) dedicated entirely to mushrooms and autumn produce — a thoroughly local event with wonderful food stalls.
Exploring Palma: Without cruise ship passengers and summer visitors, the capital can be explored at leisure in November. The Cathedral La Seu, the Es Baluard museum and the lanes of the Sa Gerreria quarter are more accessible than at any other time. An espresso at one of the cafes on Placa Major, whilst the November sun warms the flagstones, is Mallorca for connoisseurs — unhurried, elegant and deeply satisfying.
Is November a Good Time to Visit Mallorca?
For nature lovers, hikers and culture enthusiasts, November is an excellent time to visit. The island reveals a completely different side from summer: more authentic, quieter and surprisingly green after the first autumn rains. Prices for flights and hotels drop dramatically once the season ends — a double room in a 4-star Palma hotel often costs half the summer rate, and last-minute deals abound.
However, November has its limitations. Many beach hotels and holiday resorts along the coast close their doors at the end of October. The tourist infrastructure in smaller towns like Cala Ratjada or Port de Pollenca is limited. Anyone seeking a classic beach holiday will be disappointed — although the water at 19°C is surprisingly mild, 5 hours of sunshine and occasional showers do not invite all-day sunbathing.
November is particularly well suited to couples seeking tranquillity, walking groups and cultural travellers who want to experience Palma without mass tourism. Families with small children will find fewer entertainment options than in summer, but can benefit from the lower prices if they base themselves in Palma or one of the larger towns. It is a month for slow travel — for lingering over long lunches, for watching the light change over the mountains, for conversations with locals who finally have time to talk.
Packing Tips for Mallorca in November
Dress in layers: mornings can be fresh at 11°C, but midday in the sun can feel pleasantly warm. A weatherproof jacket is essential in November — the rain showers often arrive suddenly and can be heavy. Pack a compact umbrella as well. For hiking, you will need sturdy, waterproof footwear, as paths in the Tramuntana can be slippery after rain. Those brave enough for a November swim should not forget their costume — the 19°C water temperature is more bearable than you might expect. Suncream with SPF 20 is sufficient for November.
