CITY BANG BLUES – 1st Amateur Theatre Competition

Performance of “CITY BANG BLUES” by the theatre workshop of Teatre de Petra, as part of the 1st Amateur Theatre Competition at Teatre de Petra. SYNOPSIS: City Bang Blues is a madcap comedy that blends absurd humour, film noir, detective parody and blues music. Detective Jou Neumont finds himself caught up in an impossible investigation to find the daughter of a mysterious woman, surrounded by mobsters, spies and incompetent police officers. The story unfolds through misunderstandings and delirious situations, guided by two radio hosts who comment on the action between blues songs. The play uses the conventions of the noir genre only to turn them upside down with humour, rhythm and an ensemble staging. A fresh and entertaining production that reflects, through parody, on love, power, death and fate.
