Cala Molins

How do you get to Cala Molins by car or bus?

By car, follow the signs to Cala Sant Vicenç and Cala Molins; by bus, you can reach the resort on route 321.

The Balearic beach catalogue describes the journey by car as easy and signposted. Directions to Cala Sant Vicenç follow the Ma-2200, which connects Pollença with Port de Pollença, and then continue into the resort. Within Cala Sant Vicenç, Cala Molins lies on or near Plaça Cala Molins.

Practical details concerning the location of the bus stop may change. The Balearic beach catalogue places the nearest stop directly by the beach. A recent travel report from Cala Sant Vicenç shows the route 321 stop in the area behind Cala Barques and notes that it may previously have been closer to the water. As the four coves are within the same resort, Cala Molins remains accessible on foot from there, although you should expect slopes and inclines within the resort.

Route 321 connects Cala Sant Vicenç with Pollença and Port de Pollença. Timetables and stop locations can change. On the day of travel, check the current information displayed at the stop or the local transport authority’s connection details.

Note: Cala Sant Vicenç lies on steep slopes. Even though the coves are close together, some routes within the resort lead uphill and downhill.

Where can you park at Cala Molins?

According to the Balearic beach catalogue, there is a free car park directly behind Cala Molins; if it is full, parking spaces on the streets of the residential development are another option.

The proximity of the car park is one of this beach’s practical advantages. Finca-Privat also mentions a larger free car park above the cove. This is especially helpful if you are carrying beach bags, a parasol or equipment for children.

Cala Molins has a high occupancy level during the season. This also increases pressure on parking spaces near the beach. There is no reliable figure for the number of spaces or any guarantee that spaces will be available. If the car park is full, the Balearic catalogue suggests the surrounding streets of the residential area as an alternative.

Reserved areas and time restrictions may apply at Plaça Cala Molins. Parking is prohibited in one designated section between 6 and 14. The current road signs and markings on site are always decisive.

What are the water, entry and swimming conditions like?

Lifeguards are listed for Cala Molins during the summer or peak season. A visitor report from May 2025 also confirms their presence. Operating hours may vary seasonally. You should therefore follow the flags, notices and instructions on site.

Warning: If swimming is prohibited or there is significant surf, you should not enter the water. The shelter offered by a small cove should not be overestimated here: Cala Molins is open to the north and northeast.

Is Cala Molins suitable for children?

Cala Molins can be suitable for families when the sea is calm, but not during north winds and heavy surf.

The differing descriptions of the beach surface are also relevant: depending on conditions, there may be sand, pebbles or uncovered stones at the water’s edge. Water shoes are a practical precaution for sensitive feet.

Finca-Privat lists toilets, showers, litter bins, beach cleaning, shops and bars nearby. Kayaking and diving activities are also mentioned for Cala Molins or Cala Sant Vicenç.

As some of these amenities are seasonal, you should not assume that every service is guaranteed on every day of your visit. This applies particularly to rentals, lifeguard supervision, showers and water sports. Food and drink venues are located around the coves; Tripadvisor lists several bars and restaurants a short distance from Cala Molins.

The Balearic beach catalogue classifies Cala Molins as accessible. Finca-Privat mentions a ramp on the right-hand side of the beach, while steps also lead down to the beach from above the cove. You should check on site whether the ramp is currently fully usable.

Natural shade is not reliably documented. If you want protection from the sun, plan to bring your own sun protection or use the parasol hire if it is operating.

When is the best time to visit and how busy does Cala Molins get?

Weather conditions should be more important to your planning than a fixed calendar date. In north winds, the cove can change dramatically: clear bathing water can become a rough, foamy sea. A sunny day alone therefore does not guarantee good swimming conditions.

Which nearby coves and destinations can you visit?

Cala Barques, Cala Clara and Cala Carbó form the Cala Sant Vicenç beach complex together with Cala Molins.

Cala Clara is separated from Cala Molins by Punta de la Torre. It is a very small, rocky cove without its own beach services. According to older information, Cala Barques has sun lounger and parasol hire, restaurants, toilets and seasonal lifeguard supervision; access is by steps and is not considered accessible there. Cala Carbó is a rocky natural cove without services, reached via steps and an uneven path. Because entry into the water is over large stones or a rocky platform, it is less suitable for young children and non-swimmers.

The neighbouring coves therefore do not offer identical conditions. Cala Molins combines a short walk to the beach, a car park, access classified as accessible and seasonal amenities. Cala Clara and Cala Carbó are simpler and rockier, while Cala Barques has more facilities.

Cala Sant Vicenç is also known as a starting point for hikes. Well-known routes include the Camí dels Presos and paths to the Coves Blanques and Puig de l’Àliga. Because the resort lies on a hillside, you should expect ascents and descents within the village.

If you require step-free access, use the ramp on the right-hand side as a guide and check its condition on site. The Balearic catalogue lists the beach as accessible but does not provide detailed information about assistance services or the current condition of the access route.

Cala Molins is only suitable for boats to a limited extent. The catalogue rates the surface and underwater anchoring conditions as unfavourable and recommends manoeuvring only in good weather. The seabed consists of sand and seaweed; a water depth of three metres is reached only 300 metres from the shore. Boats should therefore keep an appropriate distance from the coast. Port de Pollença is 16.4 nautical miles away by sea.
