Mallorca bus 411e cut: east loses direct Palma link

Mallorca’s east loses its direct 411e bus to Palma on Sunday when the winter timetable begins, according to MÉS per Mallorca. The route connects Cala Rajada, Capdepera, Artà and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, all on Mallorca, with the capital. The party criticised the change on Friday, 30 October.

The 411e lets passengers reach Palma without changing buses in Manacor, MÉS says. On the regular service, they must change there, making the journey longer. The party says people in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Artà and Capdepera still need to travel to Palma in winter for work, education, healthcare and personal reasons.

MÉS wants the Balearic government to keep the 411e running all year. Its regional parliament member Ferran Rosa argues that bus services should not depend solely on tourist demand. The party has also asked José Luis Mateo, the minister responsible for housing, territory and mobility, to appear before parliament.
