Mallorca crash: car hits bollard on Palma pavement
A car mounts a pavement in Palma, Mallorca, and knocks out a metal bollard: all three people inside escape injury. The crash happens at about 10.50am on 15 October on the Camí de Gènova, where the car veers right and hits the bollard head-on.
The driver tells Palma Local Police he was reaching for a parking card for people with reduced mobility. He says it had fallen from the dashboard as he took a roundabout. Investigators cannot confirm his account.
The impact badly damages the front of the car and breaks its windscreen. It also pulls out the bollard and lifts several paving stones. An ambulance attends, but nobody needs to go to hospital. The driver’s alcohol test reads 0.0 mg/l. Police record the crash so insurers can handle repairs to the pavement.
