Mallorca: car overturns in Palma, driver over drink limit

In Palma, Mallorca, a car overturns on Calle Aragón on Tuesday afternoon, blocking the left lane. Nobody is hurt, but the driver tests over the legal alcohol limit, according to Palma Local Police.

The man is driving alone towards the city centre when he passes the junction with Calle Ter. He becomes distracted and loses control, police say, citing their investigation and his account. The car hits the central reservation and a road sign near number 226. The impact with the sign tips it onto its right side, leaving it stranded in the road.

A breath test gives a reading of 0.48. Police say that is below the threshold for a criminal offence but above the permitted limit. They report the driver for exceeding the alcohol limit and for driving without due care and caution.
