Ibiza club tickets leave harbour bars short of trade

At the port of Ibiza Town on the island of Ibiza, bars and restaurants lose trade as most tourists leave before 00.30, a nightlife trade group says. Its study, reported on 29 September 2026, finds fewer customers and lower profits this summer. The group links the change to prepaid club tickets and deals that reward early entry.

The Ibiza nightlife business association Noches de Ibiza observed the port on 23, 25 and 29 July. It says clubgoers plan their evenings around free bus departures rather than spending more time in town. Some prepaid tickets are valid only if customers reach the club by a set time. Club and hotel operators also offer advance bookings, drinks packages and early-entry discounts, the group says.

Bars and restaurants in Sant Antoni, particularly the West End and the bay, face the same pressure, according to the study. Advance tickets for most events cost more than 50 euros, while drinks cost more than ten euros. The association warns that competition from large operators and their booking systems could make it harder for small, independent businesses to remain profitable.
