Sa Pobla PP presses for full day centre hours
Families in Sa Pobla, Mallorca, say the reduced opening hours at the town’s day centre are still making care difficult to plan. On Friday, the PP called for full and guaranteed hours to be restored after several families raised concerns about the service.
The party says it first objected to the cut in 2025. More than a year later, spokesperson Pedrona Seguí said, the issue remains unresolved.
Families need reliable care
The PP describes the day centre as an essential service for older people who attend and for their families. It says families need enough stable hours to organise work, other responsibilities and care for relatives.
“Behind every user there is a family” that needs to know their relative is properly cared for, Seguí said.
Call for mayor to act
The party has asked Sa Pobla mayor Biel Ferragut to intervene directly and make the arrangements needed to resolve the problem.
It wants the centre to offer a full, stable timetable suited to users’ needs. Seguí said families should not have to keep returning to demand what she called such a basic service, adding that solutions for older people’s care cannot wait indefinitely.
