Palma ensaimada fair offers two free tasting tickets

Palma’s first Mallorca Ensaimada Fair will give each person two free tasting tickets on Friday, 11 September, while supplies last. The event is free to enter and takes place in the Les Rentadores courtyard at La Misericòrdia Cultural Centre in Palma. Bakeries, pastry shops and producers linked to the protected geographical indication (PGI) Ensaïmada de Mallorca will serve different versions of the traditional sweet pastry, including some made without gluten.

Forn Fondo, Benet Barón Forn i Pastisseria, Panadería Fornaris, Helados Iceberg, Can Rafael de Búger, Forn Pansemar and Pastisseria Terrasa are taking part. Their offerings include gluten-free ensaimada ice cream, while a live cooking area will show part of the pastry-making process.

The programme, organised by the Consell de Mallorca as part of the Diada de Mallorca, will also honour the careers of two Mallorcan pastry chefs. This year’s Ensaïmada de Mallorca ambassador will be named at the event.
