13 stalls: Palma's Fira del Variat expands at Pere Garau
Thirteen stalls will take over a larger fairground at Palma's Pere Garau market on 26 and 27 September as the Fira del Variat returns for its second edition. The programme includes live music and activities for families. Palma City Council says advance tickets are now available online to speed up service and reduce waiting times.
The city’s governing board is due to approve a Declaration of Municipal Interest for the fair on Wednesday. Llorenç Bauzá, deputy mayor and councillor for Natural Environment, Healthy Settings and Markets, said the move confirms Palma City Council’s backing for an event that drew a large turnout in its first year.
The fair opens on Saturday from 19.00 until midnight, then continues on Sunday from 09.00 to 23.00. It is organised by the Market and Pere Garau Square Vendors’ Association, with support from Palma City Council and the Mallorca Island Council, alongside sponsors, shops and businesses.
