A man who admitted attacking his brother with a hammer in Sa Pobla, Mallorca, has been sentenced to four years in prison. His brother died in hospital days after the attack on 9 June 2025. The sentence was agreed with prosecutors on Thursday, 17 September, at the Provincial Court.
Prosecutors had initially sought 12 years in prison. In June, the parties had already indicated that they could reach an agreement, avoiding a jury trial.
The court took account of the man’s confession and his payment of €60,000 to the family. The payment covers civil liability and compensation for the harm caused.
