Mallorca driver dies of heart attack before three-car crash
Mallorca: An 80-year-old man dies of a heart attack at the wheel before his car hits two others at the Son Ferriol roundabout in Palma on Tuesday evening. Two people in one of the other cars suffer minor injuries.
At about 19.00, the man is approaching the roundabout from the Ma-30 when he loses control, according to the Guardia Civil. His car strikes a triangular traffic island, crosses into the oncoming lane and collides with the two cars.
His 79-year-old wife is unhurt but is taken to Son Espases University Hospital. A man and a woman from one of the other cars are taken there with minor injuries. The driver of the third car is unhurt.
The Guardia Civil’s traffic officers determine that the man died before the impact. They say none of those involved was under the influence of alcohol or breaking traffic rules.
