Madrid hotel tapas: four reach the 2027 final
Four hotels in Madrid, Spain, are through to a tapas final in 2027: Rosewood Villa Magna, Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Palacio de los Duques Gran Meliá and Gran Hotel Inglés. The organisers named them on 29 September 2026, as Madrid’s Hotel Tapa Tour ended after bringing together 29 four- and five-star hotels.
At Salón Gourmets 2027, the Madrid finalists will face four hotels from Barcelona. They will compete for the Tapa Alimentos de España prize and awards for the best food pairings with Ribera del Duero and Cava wines.
There are winners already. Festival-goers chose Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid’s garlic prawn croqueta with kataifi as the best croqueta. ISA at the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid won the sweet tapa prize for Tsubaki, made with black sesame mousse, yuzu, white miso and toasted rice. Urso Hotel & Spa took the in-house experience award for a tour through its dining spaces that explores the hotel’s heritage, architecture, design and history.
The tour is backed by Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Madrid City Council’s tourism department and the Madrid Hotel Business Association. It aims to boost hotel dining and spending on food and drink.
Barcelona’s Hotel Tapa Tour runs from 5 to 15 November. The organisers also plan to launch a permanent route through hotel dining spaces in Madrid and Barcelona in January 2027.
