Ibiza cooking course: 15 places open for island food

Just 15 places are available on a new Ibiza cooking course at the Eivissa Hospitality School in Eivissa this year. It is the school’s first academic course focused on the island’s food culture and cooking. Ibiza Island Council says enrolment opens on the 15th for culinary professionals, students and enthusiasts.

The 90-hour course will run across two terms. Training will centre on making seasonal recipes and visiting Ibiza producers and food makers.

The programme follows the island’s traditional cooking and aims to bring back recipes and preparations linked to how people have historically eaten in Eivissa. Salt will open the first term, followed by subjects including Ibiza olive oil and wheat.

Producers and makers will also take part in sessions on traditions such as matanzas and the production of peix sec.
