Jesús traffic trial: PSOE demands urgent review

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

On 2 September, the PSOE group in Santa Eulària called for an urgent Mobility Commission meeting over a traffic trial in Jesús. The scheme is converting part of the town centre into a pedestrian area. The party wants to see the studies, paperwork and criteria behind its launch and future development.

Socialist representatives visited Carrer Estruç, where traffic changes have affected local residents, and gathered their views. The group said any action must also take account of the consequences for streets across Jesús.

The PSOE says a trial scheme should collect data before permanent decisions are made, including feedback from residents. It is seeking details of meetings and communications with affected residents and organisations, as well as the indicators planned to assess the scheme’s results and impact.

The party also wants to know what information residents received before the changes began and how they were able to take part beforehand. It says any solution must reflect the needs of all Jesús.
