Mallorca restaurants chase Spain’s best new opening prize
Mallorca has two contenders for Spain’s best new restaurant opening of 2025: Ritma in Fornalutx, Mallorca, and Pueblo in Sóller, Mallorca. Both are among the 41 nominees in the fifth TheFork Awards. Voting opened yesterday and runs until Sunday 11 October.
A panel of 56 Michelin-starred chefs chose the restaurants, including Ángel León, the Torres brothers, Martín Berasategui and Elena Arzak. The nominees come from 14 Spanish regions, with two entries from the Balearics.
Platform users now decide the People’s Choice Award for the best opening of 2025. The restaurant with the most votes will take the prize, while nine restaurants will be recognised as finalists.
The awards ceremony is set for 16 November at Madrid’s Gran Teatro Caixabank.
