Mallorca council accounts: 11 limits, no audit verdict

Montuïri, Mallorca, has no audit verdict on its 2024 council accounts: 11 limits on the review left auditors without enough evidence to judge them. The Sindicatura de Cuentas, the public accounts auditor, said on 28 October 2026 that it cannot say whether the accounts give a true picture of the council’s assets, finances and annual results as at 31 December 2024.

Its report, recently submitted to the Balearic Parliament, makes 43 recommendations. It asks the council to put its internal financial checks in writing and spell out how they work. It also calls for a procedure with deadlines and named responsibilities so the council can approve and carry out a plan to fix the shortcomings found.
