Mallorca: Traffic on Camino Fondo in Palma comes to a complete halt on Sunday as cars queue for a €6 car park at a private motor event. Around 7,000 people attend, according to the organisers. Palma Local Police record two serious breaches: the car park has no council authorisation, and the event lacks the required licence.

Calls to police report long queues and a parking attendant on the road. Officers find traffic stopped, with the tailback threatening to reach the Ma-30. The organiser admits it has no permission to charge for parking on the agricultural plot. With just one entrance and exit, cars trying to get in block Camino Fondo completely.

Dozens of cars park on the verges in both directions, while many pedestrians cross the road. Police say this puts road safety at serious risk. Extra officers direct traffic for hours until it flows again.

Police record the unauthorised car park as one serious breach. The Green Patrol records a second for holding the event without a licence and sends its report to the council’s Activities Department to begin penalty proceedings.
