Mallorca motorcycle stunt leaves a child injured: a 21-year-old rider loses control on the Ma-10 in the Serra de Tramuntana early on Saturday, 3 October. His bike collides with another motorcycle, throwing its rider into the air, then hits the child at the side of the road. Both the child and the second rider are injured, according to the Civil Guard’s Balearic Islands command.

The 21-year-old had been performing stunts in front of spectators and had ridden on one wheel before veering into oncoming traffic. The crash happened the day before the ‘Pujada al Puig Major’ motor race. When officers arrived, both riders had left. They found one of the motorcycles hidden by the roadside.

A tip gave investigators footage of the crash and the 21-year-old’s motorcycle registration number. Social media posts helped them find him. He is under investigation on suspicion of dangerous driving, leaving the scene and causing injury through negligence. He could face up to six years in prison and up to ten years without a driving licence.

The injured rider, aged 24, is also under investigation because he had no points left on his licence. He could face up to six months in prison. The Civil Guard warns that stunts on roads open to traffic put other road users and people nearby at risk.
