Mallorca plans night trains and buses for nights out
Mallorca nights out: regional president Marga Prohens plans night trains and buses so people can get home without a car. She announced the plans on Tuesday, 20 October, during her general policy speech. Prohens said the services would give people another way home after concerts and parties.
The trains are planned for weekends and the eve of public holidays. Prohens also wants to strengthen TIB, the regional bus network, with night buses, new routes, more frequent services and more routes that can be booked in advance. Another 25 million euros is planned for the final quarter of the year to add 24 buses to the network.
Prohens also announced a transport study for the proposed railway to Artà and Capdepera. The project already has five million euros allocated from the Sustainable Tourism Tax. Parliamentary groups are due to respond to her speech on Wednesday.
