Palma ring road work starts this year

Work on Palma’s second ring road will begin before the end of 2026, linking the Ma-19 motorway from Llucmajor with the Ma-13 road towards Inca. The route will run through Coll d’en Rabassa and is intended to ease traffic on the approaches to Palma. Llorenç Galmés, president of the Council of Mallorca, announced the plans on Wednesday alongside Balearic government leader Marga Prohens and Palma mayor Jaime Martínez.

The project will be built in two phases.

First link moves road from homes

The first phase will create a connection with the Levante motorway. It is designed to move the road further away from homes on Calle Cardenal Rossell. That section has a budget of €90 million.

Tunnel and green area follow

The second phase includes a tunnel of almost one kilometre and a green area. It has been allocated €260 million.
