Palma triathlon shuts Paseo Marítimo on Sunday

Palma, Mallorca’s Paseo Marítimo closes in both directions on Sunday 20 September for the Stellantis&You Triatlón Puerto de Palma. The closure runs from 06.30 to 14.30 between Monsenyor Palmer and Manuel Azaña. Palma Local Police and municipal bus operator EMT Palma have drawn up a special traffic plan for the race and Saturday’s Mobility Day.

Avenida Argentina will also shut in both directions between the Paseo Marítimo and calle Anníbal. Calle Joan Maragall will close between the Autopista de Llevant slip road and the s’Àncora roundabout.

Sunday diversions around Palma

Traffic arriving from the airport will be sent towards Manuel Azaña. Vehicles travelling from Avenidas towards the sea will be diverted along Joan Maragall and Manuel Azaña to the Autopista de Llevant, the Ma-19.

On the Paseo Marítimo, traffic heading towards the airport will turn towards Monsenyor Palmer. At Monsenyor Palmer, vehicles heading towards the sea will be directed along the Paseo Marítimo towards Andratx.

The city will also close the downhill side of avenida Argentina at calle de Caro, sending traffic along Teodoro Llorente. On calle de Llucmajor, traffic will be directed to the Autopista de Llevant at the s’Àncora roundabout. EMT Palma will divert routes 18, 25, 35, 23, 31 and A1 from 06.30 to 14.00.

Saturday closures in the centre

On Saturday 19 September, calle Unió will close from plaça de Juan Carlos I to calle de la Riera between 08.00 and 16.00. The Passeig del Born will also close from plaça de la Reina in the direction of Juan Carlos I.

EMT Palma will suspend stops 50, 52, 53, 54, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108 and 1048. Services are expected to return to their normal routes from about 16.00.

Mobility Day starts at 10.00, with family activities and displays of EMT Palma’s new electric buses. The event also includes activities linked to sustainable mobility.
