350 join Posidonia festival on Formentera this October

Just 350 people will take part in SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia on Formentera from 2 to 4 October 2026, as the festival marks its tenth year. Music, food, beer culture and nature are all part of the programme. But much of what those attending will see remains under wraps until the event begins.

The anniversary edition will bring back some artists who have played the festival before, alongside new names. It will also return to familiar sites on the island while adding new locations.

A line-up kept under wraps

The secret line-up remains central to Posidonia’s format. Festival-goers will not know a large part of the programme, including many of the artists, until the opening.

Across its first nine editions, the event staged 83 concerts and 17 DJ sets featuring 78 artists. Previous performers include The Vaccines, Baiuca, Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagés, Carlos Ares, Roosevelt, Queralt Lahoz, Israel Fernández and Jorge Drexler.

Island links and waste target

More than 140 Formentera businesses and local participants have been involved with the project over the past decade. The festival has also run more than 30 land and sea routes with over 50 local experts, while participants have walked more than 60 kilometres on the island.

More than 30 Formentera restaurants and chefs have contributed to its food offer. The festival has now received the TRUE Zero Waste Platinum certification for a third consecutive year. Organisers say it is the highest recognition from Green Business Certification Inc. for a music event, following a 99.3% waste-diversion rate at the latest edition.

The organisers also cite decarbonisation, circular economy, responsible tourism and protection of Formentera’s environment as parts of the project, including the Save Posidonia Project.
