Palma Local Police say the car ahead had stopped to let her cross. The driver behind did not brake. He crossed a solid line into the oncoming lane to overtake and did not see the woman in time. The impact knocked her onto the road.

Police investigated the overtaking driver. Their accident unit found him responsible for passing illegally at the crossing and failing to give way. Neither driver showed signs of having consumed alcohol.
