On Mallorca, two 75-seat buses start serving the TIB intercity route between Port d'Andratx and Palma on Sunday, when winter timetables begin. The 18-metre articulated buses replace 12-metre vehicles on route 101. The Balearic Ministry of Housing, Territory and Mobility announced the changes on Friday, 30 October.

More November journeys in the southwest

Routes 102 from Peguera, 103 from Santa Ponça and 104 from Magaluf will all run more often in November than they did in the same month last year. Route 102 gains 16 per cent more weekday journeys and a Sunday departure from Palma at 06.50.

Route 103 gains nearly 20 per cent more services, including journeys from Costa de la Calma and Palma. It adds a 06.55 Sunday departure from Palma, while its last bus from Santa Ponça leaves at 23.20. Route 104 gains 42 per cent more departures from Magaluf and 38.5 per cent more from Palma. Timetables are due to be adjusted again in December to match winter demand.

Other routes change too

Route 106 between El Toro and Palma will stop at the new Camí Cala Figuera stop in Sa Porrassa, following a request from Calvià council. In the Serra de Tramuntana, route 203 between Valldemossa, Deià and Port de Sóller keeps its summer timetable through November, with 40 per cent more services overall. Route 517 between Santanyí, Colònia de Sant Jordi and Campos will continue serving Cala Llombards throughout winter.

Some changes are aimed at school journeys. On route 401 between Cala Millor and Palma, buses passing through Manacor at around 14.30 and 15.20 will also go through Algaida, helping pupils at Mossèn Alcover and IES Manacor get home. Route 504 will adjust times between s'Arenal de Llucmajor and the coastal developments. The A43 and A33 airport routes will change their midday times for pupils at IES Manacor and IES Berenguer d'Anoia in Inca; the changes are also intended to ease crowding on routes 302 and 401.
