Mallorca: 714 vocational training places for Alcúdia
On Mallorca, a planned vocational training centre in Alcúdia promises 714 places and carries a €12.5 million price tag. The Balearic government grants it special regional strategic-interest status on Friday, 16 October, alongside a second planned centre in Cala Millor, Mallorca. Government spokesperson Antoni Costa announces the decision after a cabinet meeting.
The Alcúdia centre will bring the municipality’s vocational training courses together at one site in the s’Hortet area. It will offer 15 courses, mainly in hospitality, as well as administration and management, tourism and food production. Plans cover basic, intermediate and higher-level training, plus specialist courses.
The Cala Millor centre is intended to widen training options in eastern Mallorca, with a focus on tourism and related services. Its planned subjects also include personal care, electrical and electronic work, installation and maintenance, and energy and water. It, too, is expected to offer courses at different levels and some specialist training.
