Mallorca water pipes: PP presses mayor over delay
Sa Pobla’s PP says promised water pipes linking the water plant to a future reservoir are still not in place. On 10 September, it called on Mayor Biel Ferragut to meet a written commitment made by the council to Abaqua and the Directorate-General for Water Resources. The party has filed a motion seeking completion of the work in 2026.
The PP says Ferragut had pledged to pay for the pipes from the council’s 2025 surplus. But it says credit modification 15/2026, also funded from that surplus, contains no budget line for the project.
According to the party, the 18-month period set to fulfil the agreement with Abaqua has already passed. It says the mayor must either deliver the work he signed up to or explain to the people of Sa Pobla why it has not happened.
The motion asks the full council to approve the pipeline work during 2026, fulfilling the agreement with Abaqua.
