Mallorca worker impaled by metal bar in site fall

A 26-year-old construction worker is seriously injured in Banyalbufar, Mallorca, after falling into a hole and impaling his abdomen on a metal bar. The accident happens at about 11.50am on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, according to the 061 emergency medical service and the Civil Guard.
He falls two metres into the hole at the building site. What caused the fall is not yet known. He also suffers a penetrating shoulder wound. Paramedics and firefighters treat him before taking him to Son Espases University Hospital, where he is admitted in a serious condition.
