Climate in Can Singala — elevated position above the Bay of Pollença
Can Singala sits on the hillsides above Port de Pollença, at an elevation of 153 meters. The residential area looks out over the bay and occupies a climatic middle ground: close enough to the water to feel coastal influences, yet high enough to benefit from the thermal advantages of a hillside setting.
Rainfall in the Pollença region is shaped by the Tramuntana orographic effect. According to aggregator climate data, the area receives an annual average of around 657 mm — compared to 449 mm in Palma according to AEMET. The elevated position can actually capture even more precipitation than the valley during intense autumn weather patterns. November is the wettest month, with around 102 mm.
Summers in Can Singala are warm, but the elevation makes a noticeable difference. Daytime highs in July reach around 30°C according to proxy climate data — however, nights cool down more noticeably on the hillside than right along the promenade in Port de Pollença. In July, average rainfall is just around 10 mm; summer is dry and clear.
The Bay of Pollença is easily reachable from Can Singala in 10–15 minutes. Sea temperatures reach around 25°C in July and around 26°C in August. In October, the bay remains pleasant at around 23°C.
Winters are mild but cooler than in coastal villages at sea level. The daily average in January sits at around 11°C; the elevated position can bring the occasional frosty night, something that is rare right on the bay.
Climate information for the surrounding area is available at Pollença Weather and Tramuntana Wind Mallorca. For planning beach visits, see Water Temperature Mallorca.
Note on data sources: Can Singala has no dedicated climate station. The figures are based on proxy data from Pollença (T3-Aggregator, approx. 4 km) and should be treated as indicative values. For comparison with Palma, AEMET B228 (1981–2010) was used.
