Climate in El Toro — Southwest Coast Between Santa Ponsa and Son Ferrer
El Toro sits in the southwest of Mallorca, wedged between the Santa Ponsa II golf course, the new development of Nova Santa Ponsa, and the village of Son Ferrer. The name refers to the low hills of the surrounding area — climatically, El Toro belongs to the southwestern coastal zone of the municipality of Calvià, which differs slightly from the Bahia de Palma in terms of climate.
The most important difference from the Palma zone: the southwest of Mallorca is more exposed to westerly and northwesterly sea currents. According to T3-Aggregator climate data for the Calvià region, annual rainfall is around 550 mm — somewhat higher than the 449 mm recorded by AEMET for station B228 Palma Hafen. The wettest month is November, for which the Calvià climate data show around 89 mm. Summer months are classically Mediterranean dry — in July, climate data show only around 8 mm of rainfall.
