Climate in Sa Porrassa — Southwest Coast of Calvià
Sa Porrassa is a coastal village in the municipality of Calvià, sitting at 5 meters above sea level on the southwest coast of Mallorca, not far from Santa Ponça and Magaluf. Its position on the western edge of the Bahia de Palma shapes the local climate: the same Mediterranean baseline as Palma, with somewhat stronger westerly wind influence than the eastern side of the bay.
Annual rainfall totals 449 mm according to AEMET — the standard Palma figure that applies across the entire Bahia de Palma region. November is the wettest month at around 79 mm; July sees roughly 9 mm. Summers are dry and hot: July daytime highs around 31°C, daily average around 26°C.
The coastal position at 5 m elevation means constant exposure to sea breezes: in summer, the Embat (afternoon onshore wind) brings relief from the heat; along the southwest coast this wind typically comes from the west and can blow somewhat harder than on Palma's eastern outskirts. The Western Water Park makes full use of the area's summer heat.
Bahia de Palma sea temperatures: around 26°C in July, around 27°C in August, still around 23°C in October. The Sa Porrassa shoreline is directly accessible.
Winters are mild: the January daily average sits around 11°C. Frost is extremely rare at this coastal elevation.
