Climate in Puerto Portals — Marina on the Bay of Palma
Puerto Portals sits on the western side of the Bahia de Palma, a few kilometers west of Palma. It is known as one of the most exclusive marinas on Mallorca. Climatically, it falls squarely under the influence of central Mallorca's climate: the bay acts as a heat collector in summer and as a mild buffer in winter.
According to aggregator climate data, the Bahia de Palma receives around 512 mm of precipitation per year — the AEMET figure for Palma is 449 mm (reference period 1981–2010). The wettest month is November, with around 79 mm. In summer, however, the bay is very dry: July averages just around 9 mm.
Summers in Puerto Portals are warm and sunny: in July, daytime highs reach around 31°C, with a daily mean of around 26°C. The sea breeze from the south — the local Embat — brings welcome cooling to the promenade and the dock on hot afternoons. Water temperatures in the Bahia de Palma sit at around 26°C in July and peak at around 27°C in August.
Even in October the sea remains pleasantly warm at around 23°C. Autumn gradually brings more cloud cover and rainfall, but Puerto Portals never fully winds down — the marina stays active year-round, even as the number of berth users declines.
Winters are mild: the daily mean in January is around 11°C. The sheltered position within the bay means that sharp cold-air incursions are partly blocked by the Tramuntana to the north. Frost is very rare in Puerto Portals.

Note on data sources: Puerto Portals has no dedicated climate station. Values are based on aggregator climate data for the Bahia de Palma (T3-Aggregator source) and should be treated as indicative figures.
