Climate in S'Alqueria Blanca — Hilly Hinterland of the Southeast Coast
S'Alqueria Blanca sits on a gentle rise within the municipality of Santanyí, southeast of the Mondragó Nature Park. The village has held on to its original Mallorcan character and, climatically, belongs to the dry, sunny southeast zone of the island.
According to aggregator climate data from the Santanyí cluster, the region receives around 507 mm of precipitation per year — somewhat above the AEMET figure for Palma (449 mm). The wettest month is November, with roughly 90 mm. Summers are defined by drought: July averages around 7 mm, which is typical for southeast Mallorca.
The modest elevation of 126 m has minor effects compared to the immediate coastal strip: nights are slightly cooler than at the shore, and in winter there can occasionally be a little more precipitation. Reliable documentation of precise temperature gradients for this elevation difference is lacking, however — coastal proxy values serve as reference figures.
Summers are warm: in July, daytime highs reach around 30°C, with a daily average of around 25°C. The Mondragó Nature Park lies just a few kilometers away — the coves of Cala Mondragó are a popular day-trip destination, with sea temperatures in July running around 25°C.
In October the sea stays at around 23°C, still comfortable for swimmers. Winters are mild: in January the daily average sits at around 12°C. Frost is rare.
