Climate in Sa Pedruscada — Quiet Coast in the Northeast
Sa Pedruscada is a small coastal settlement with pebble-cove beaches near Cala Ratjada, sitting at around 80 meters above sea level. Its northeast-facing position gives this part of Mallorca a distinct climate: the open exposure to winds and precipitation from the east and northeast means more autumn rainfall than in the south and west of the island.
There is no dedicated weather station in the immediate area. The reference point is Manacor (approx. 35 km to the southwest), where aggregator climate data records around 586 mm of annual rainfall. For the northeast coast itself, figures could run somewhat higher in autumn and winter, since the region is more directly exposed to eastward-facing weather fronts. According to the Manacor reference, November is the wettest month at around 104 mm; July is the driest at around 8 mm.
Summers are warm. Daytime highs at the reference station reach around 29°C, with a daily average of around 25°C. At 80 m elevation on the northeast coast, sea breezes provide good afternoon cooling in summer — Cala Ratjada and the surrounding coves are well known for pleasant conditions even at the height of summer.
Sea temperatures along the northeast coast reach around 25°C in July and around 27°C in August — typical for the Balearic Sea. In October the water is still around 23°C.
Winters are mild: the January daily average is around 11°C according to the reference station. Frost is rare. The Cala Ratjada area is very quiet in winter and well suited to walks in natural surroundings.
