Mallorca rally crash kills driver, halts event

Mallorca rally organisers halt the Rally Challenge Mallorca 550 after a crash kills a driver near Mortitx, Mallorca, on Friday. His co-driver is seriously injured. The crash happened at kilometre 10 of the Ma-10, heading from Pollença towards Lluc.
The competition and all related activities are suspended. In a social media message on Saturday, the organisers said times, results and rally stages no longer mattered. They sent their sympathy to those affected and their loved ones, and said drivers, co-drivers, teams, organisers, collaborators and friends were united in grief.
