Palma will see a protest against European Union migration policy at Plaza de las Columnas on Saturday. The Asamblea Antirracista de Mallorca has called the gathering for 12.00, demanding respect for human rights and an end to EU policies that outsource migration control. It takes place under the slogan: “Ceuta: rights without borders, communities without racism. Protection and dignity for everyone.”

The organisers say they want to expose what they describe as rights violations linked to migration policy. They are calling on Spain, Morocco and the EU to accept responsibility for what they call “instrumentalisation” and racist and colonial violence.

A manifesto will be read at the event, followed by speeches from members of the Asamblea.
