Mallorca stabbing: 19-year-old dies in Palma

A 19-year-old has died after a stabbing in the street in Palma, Mallorca. Emergency crews were called to Calle Indalecio Prieto at about 22.57 during the night after a report of an attack. They found the young man in cardiac arrest with a penetrating wound to his abdomen.

Medics briefly restore his pulse

A SAMU team arrived with an advanced life-support unit and a basic life-support unit. Paramedics restored the 19-year-old's pulse before taking him in a critical condition to the emergency department at Hospital Son Espases.

He was moved straight to an operating theatre, but later died, emergency services said.

Young man arrested after attack

A young man was arrested shortly after the stabbing, according to the information available. The National Police's homicide group has taken over the investigation, with no further details yet released.
