Mallorca: Five sculptures from around 800 kilos of alabaster
In Palma, Mallorca, five alabaster sculptures stand in the courtyard of Ca n'Oleo: Isabela Lleó's exhibition runs until 5 January 2027. The Balearic Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport announced the show, Qüestions orgàniques, on 1 October 2026. Lleó worked on the pieces in Es Llombards, Mallorca, using stone from quarries on the Spanish mainland.
The artist says the sculptures grew out of around 800 kilos of alabaster. A company gave her the material free while she was travelling in her van to look for stone.
The shapes bring to mind flowers, snails, eggs and swans. The pedestals were also reworked specially for the exhibition. The show is part of Art al pati, a programme bringing contemporary art into the Ca n'Oleo courtyard.
