Mallorca’s Art Cologne Palma puts video art on screen

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

Mallorca’s Art Cologne Palma is making room for film and video art: the fair returns to the Palau de Congressos in Palma, Mallorca, from 1 to 4 April 2027. Galleries can apply for 20-minute screening slots without taking their own stand. Organisers say the second edition will bring international galleries, collectors and art lovers to Palma.

The new section, called Moving Image Art, will use a screen in one of the venue’s auditoriums to show artists’ films, videos and digital works. Applications from galleries are already open and close on 14 October. Artists María Baró, Xavier Fiol, Alex Flick, Stefan Lundgren, Frederic Pinya and Fran Reus form the panel that will select galleries for the 2027 fair.

At the first fair, held from 9 to 12 April 2026, 88 galleries from 20 countries showed work at the Palau de Congressos. Nineteen were from the Balearic Islands. More than 10,000 people visited, including local attendees and collectors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia and the United States.
