Mallorca’s BaleArt craft fair brings 70 exhibitors to La Misericòrdia in Palma, Mallorca, from Thursday, 29 October. Entry is free, and the fair runs until 1 November. The exhibitor count is 75% higher than last year, when BaleArt returned after a 15-year break.

Food crafts join the fair this year, with honey, liqueurs and cheeses among the products on show. Visitors can also see pottery and ceramics, glasswork, woodwork, leatherwork, basketry, textiles, lace, painting and metalwork.

Accredited artisans from every Balearic island are taking part. The island councils certify the pieces on show through artisan or master artisan credentials. The Balearic government’s Department of Enterprise, Self-Employment and Energy says the fair aims to draw attention to local crafts and traditional trades.

There are live demonstrations, entertainment and tastings, as well as a chance to learn about the different crafts. BaleArt opens from 11.00 to 20.00, except on Sunday, when it closes at 16.00.
