Blai Bonet sound poem opens in Inca shoe museum
A visual and sound poem drawn from Blai Bonet’s writing opens at the Museu del Calçat in Inca, Mallorca, on Friday, 11 September, at 19.00. The work, On els mals camins se perden, brings poetry into the shoe museum, with footwear taking a central symbolic role.
Fundació Mallorca Literària is staging the opening with Inca Town Council. The installation was first shown at Casa Blai Bonet in Santanyí in July and now moves to Inca in an effort to reach people beyond poetry’s usual audience.
Created by Cabosanroque, the duo of Laia Torrens and Roger Aixut, the piece uses image and sound to explore freedom in Bonet’s work. The artists focus in particular on the idea that real freedom cannot be found outside writing.
The opening forms part of the 2026 centenary programme for Bonet’s birth, led by the Consell de Mallorca through Fundació Mallorca Literària.
