Mallorca’s comic festival brings three exhibitions to the island’s cities of Palma and Inca from 14 to 18 October. At Palma’s Casal Soller, a free show of work by Spanish women comic artists opens on 15 October and runs until 7 January. The exhibitions are part of Còmic Nostrum-Festival Internacional del Còmic de Mallorca, Palma City Council says.

Two exhibitions in Inca

In Inca, the Museum of Footwear and Industry hosts ‘La sabata dibuixada’, while Cas Metge Cifre hosts ‘El Víbora’. Both exhibitions run from 14 to 18 October. For the second year, the city councils of Palma and Inca are organising the festival with the Clúster de Còmic y Nous Media.

Women comic artists in Palma

The Palma exhibition, ‘Vinyeta és una paraula femenina – Autores de còmic espanyoles des dels anys 50 fins avui’, covers seven decades of Spanish comics by women. It includes work by Purita Campos, Mariel Soria, Ana Miralles, Ana Penyas, Emma Ríos and Margalida Vinyes. Comic critic and editor Jaume Vaquer curated the show.

Admission is free. Casal Soller opens Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 to 20.00, and on Sundays and public holidays from 11.00 to 14.30.
