Mesquida will receive the Premi Joan Alcover. Fullana takes the Premi Bartomeu Rosselló-Pòrcel, which honours someone under 30 for their contribution to Balearic culture.

Other winners include linguist Nicolau Dols, recognised for his academic work on Catalan, and researcher Caterina Valriu, honoured for her work on oral traditions and popular literature. Mallorcan brand Melicotó wins a prize for promoting language, culture and identity. Filmmaker Margalida Melià will receive an honorary mention.

The awards span literature, research, education and work for the Catalan language. Obra Cultural Balear president Antoni Llabrés says that, 40 years after the prizes began, they still aim to make that work visible and support places where Catalan can be used, created and passed on.
