Mallorca and Menorca culture gets €139,500 boost
In Palma, Mallorca, the Teatre del Mar gets €40,000: the Balearic government approves €139,500 for three cultural projects across Mallorca and Menorca on 23 October 2026. The Fundació Cultural Coll Bardolet in Valldemossa, Mallorca, receives €49,500, while Menorca’s Teatre des Born gets €50,000. Government spokesman Antoni Costa announced the direct grants after a meeting of the Balearic government’s Council of Government.
The money for the Teatre des Born will support its cultural programme and help theatre productions and artistic teams move between Mallorca and Menorca. The project also aims to support Balearic stage work and the use of Catalan in the arts.
The Teatre del Mar grant will pay for part of its 2026 performing arts programme, including social theatre and work to reach and retain audiences. In Valldemossa, the Coll Bardolet foundation will use its grant for its annual cultural programme and activities at its headquarters. The foundation preserves and shares the work of painter Josep Coll Bardolet.
