Five concerts in Palma, Mallorca: the city’s early-music festival opens on Thursday at Santa Margarita church and ends in the Cathedral of Mallorca on 28 November. On 12 November, countertenor Hugo Bolívar and Belisiana Ruis perform at Nostra Senyora de la Mercè church at 20.30. Their programme follows European music as it moves from the Renaissance towards the Baroque. Mallorca’s Ensemble Tramuntana plays works by Jean Féry-Rebel, Bach and Boccherini on 19 November, also at 20.30.

Polish harpsichordist Maciej Skzeczkowski takes the stage at Sant Felip Nerí church on 26 November at 20.00. He will play pieces by Domenico Scarlatti and Antonio Soler Ramos.

The final concert brings the Capella de La Seu and Joch de Ministrils together in the Cathedral of Mallorca on Saturday 28 November at 20.00. Their programme, ‘Actes extraordinaris’, has three parts. The Capella currently has 20 singers.
