Faust opened the theatre’s 41st opera season. The earlier performances drew 664 and 697 people, while 546 attended the dress rehearsal. The council said the production had won over audiences and critics.

The production brings back the version first performed in Paris in 1859, including spoken passages and previously unpublished arias. More than 120 artists and other professionals took part. Denis Podalydès directed the staging, with Alejandro Cantalapiedra in charge of the music. Mallorcan performers Begoña Gómez, Joan Miquel Muñoz and Jordi Fontana were among the cast.

The season continues in January 2027 with the zarzuela La tabernera del puerto. Orlando furioso follows in February, Pierrot Lunaire in April and Madama Butterfly in June 2027.
