Spain’s Ministry of Culture awarded the grants through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts. Of the successful projects, 36 are in a category for particular cultural and artistic value, 24 are documentaries and ten are experimental films. Forty-nine are international co-productions.

The Balearic Islands account for two of the successful production companies. Catalonia has 20 and the Madrid region 14. The announcement does not name the Balearic companies or say how much either will receive.
