Palma film music concert fills theatre with Harry Potter

Film music from Harry Potter and Titanic filled the Teatre Principal in Palma on Friday as the Sinfónica de Baleares staged the third Música de Cinema concert. Pablo Mielgo conducted the orchestra. José Luis Garci and Inocencio Arias introduced the films, adding stories, curiosities and anecdotes about their soundtracks.

The programme also featured music from Schindler’s List, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and West Side Story. The orchestra played pieces from North by Northwest, My Fair Lady, Miss Saigon, Singin’ in the Rain and The Sound of Music.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport said the concert format is designed to bring symphonic music to a wider range of audiences while showing the close link between music and cinema.
